SMART Goals and How This Acronym will give you the best guide to achieving your Goals

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog and I hope you are doing well. Today we will be talking about the best guide you can have to accomplish your goals. It comes in the form of SMART. If you guys like this post, please be sure to favorite it and check out my other sites and my social media so I can do more like this!

Okay so in this paragraph I will be briefly overviewing the acronym and what each letter stands for.

S- simple and specific goals

M- meaningful, measurable and motivating goals

A- attainable goals

R- reasonable, realistic and results-based

T- time focused goals

Now that you have a brief overview on what it stands for, let's go more in depth and fully understand how such a small word can have the biggest impact on your lifestyle and your mindset.

THE FIVE QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ANSWER WHEN MAKING A GOAL

Here are the five questions that you need to ask yourself:

1)What is it I want to accomplish?

In other words, what is your goal and what do you need to do?

2) Why is this goal important to me?

Why is this something I have to have?

3) Who is needed to accomplish this goal?

There are always people that will help you in life and that includes in your goals.

4) Where is my goal going to be accomplished?

There can be so many places for a goal, like for a vacation it might be Paris, or college can be in New York.

5) Which resources are involved and is there a limit?

There are always people that will help you in life and that includes your goals like if you're fundraising money for a goal, you need to have a way, a resource to help you make that money, same as a person.

S- simple and specific goals

When making your goal, you have to make sure it's specific and simple because if not, it can be too overwhelming trying to accomplish a goal with too much inside.

example

before: My goal is to become disciplined.

after using S: My goal is to be more disciplined in waking up at 5.

explanation: It's very important to be specific because it can feel like a lot. It's also important to take steps because you can't do everything you want in one day. It takes time and that's something we all have right now. So, take your time and once you're done, you'll feel so much better having finished everything in your goal thoroughly.

M- measurable, meaningful, and motivating goals

When I say measurable, I want you to track your progress because not only is it helping you be organized, it can be a great motivator to see how far you've come. You can celebrate every time you hit a milestone because it shows how far you are willing to achieve your goals. So, when you track your progress, what you accomplish is more meaningful to you knowing you worked hard.

A- attainable goals

This goes along with S because when you are trying to accomplish a goal, you want it to be simple and specific, and attainable for you. Before you actually have your goal written down, make sure you can see yourself achieving it.

R- reasonable, realistic and results-based

When you are making a goal, relevance comes into play because it may be a great goal, maybe just not for you right now. When making a goal, always make sure you're asking yourself if it's the right time or if it matches the effort of the other things in life. Be results-based because like in A, you can't achieve a goal if no one has ever done it. For most people, that is hitting close to impossible, so please when starting out, you want to be reasonable, realistic, and results-based goals.

T- Time-focused goals

Time is so important in our everyday world, it seems like there are so many of us and so little time to share. Well, that's where you're wrong. You just need to learn to manage your time better and that starts with your goals. Your goal will never work out if there's no set deadline or something like that because, without a deadline or anything time-based for your goal, you won't be motivated enough to continue and ultimately accomplish your goal.

As this article comes to an end, I want you to go over it again and ask yourself, Do I have a goal I want to accomplish, and am I using smart?
